There are a lot of options when it comes to chocking the wheels on your RV. This X-Chock wheel stabilizer review explains why none of those other options belong in the same conversation as the X-Chock. That is not some bold overstatement to grab your attention. After 30,000 miles of travels in our RVs, we are convinced the X-Chock is the best wheel stabilizer on the market.
Wheel stabilizers prevent your vehicle from rolling off. The more level your site, the less you have to worry. I’ve seen some people using 2×4 boards as chocks. Its not something I recommend, the point is you can get by with simple triangle chocks if you have no other option. Rigs these days are expensive, and we prefer to protect that investment with the best wheel chock and stabilizer on the market. They are worth every penny. (Check the current price on Amazon)
Best RV Wheel Stabilizer
I will start with the biggest reason the x-chock outperforms all competitors. That reason is never having to worry about running over your chocks. We used traditional chocks for years. The Andersen Chocks were typically what we used. While visiting the Grand Canyon our Andersen chocks became wedged between two wheels. We ended up running one over to get the other out. The one we ran over broke.
Its been mentioned several times before, but Andersen has an outstanding warranty. I could have easily been sent a replacement, but I knew it would happen again and again. It would be insane to continue putting traditional chocks under your wheels when a product like the X-Chock is available.
Another reason I love the X-chock is because it helps eliminate movement in our RV. Whether we are in the toy hauler or the travel trailer, the x-chocks eliminate a lot of the wiggle from the kids playing. When we combine them with the Anderson jack stabilizers our rig barely moves.
You can’t do an X-Chock Wheel Stabilizer review without talking about price. And this is another big plus. Of course you get the cheap triangle chocks for less, but in my experience those do a poor job and don’t last longer than a single summer. Wheel Stabilizer for Toy Hauler and Travel Trailer
The entire point of a wheel chock is to keep your vehicle from rolling off. Traditional triangle chocks can help, but enough of a grade and they won’t do much good. The X-Chocks create friction between the wheels so they simply cannot move. Any other type of wheel chock simply doesn’t make sense. Give them a try and we think you will quickly feel the same way.
I also recommend making sure you have a nice reversible socket wrench. It makes tightening and loosening the stabilizers as easy as pie.
